Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all treks, expeditions and tours booked with Northern Hill (The Northern Hills Trek and Expedition), registered with the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.

Bookings & payments

• An enquiry submitted on this website is not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed once we receive the advance payment and send written confirmation.
• The balance is payable before the trek start date as stated in your confirmation.
• Prices are per person from the stated start point unless otherwise mentioned.

Cancellation by the trekker

• More than 30 days before departure: full refund minus a processing fee.
• 15–30 days before departure: 50% refund, or a trek voucher for the full amount valid for 12 months.
• Less than 15 days before departure: trek voucher only (no cash refund).

Cancellation or changes by Northern Hill

We may change routes, campsites or itineraries, or cancel a trek, because of weather, natural events, government orders or safety concerns. If we cancel before departure, you will receive a trek voucher or a refund. Changes made on the mountain for safety reasons are not eligible for refunds.

Health & fitness

Trekkers must be in good health and disclose any medical conditions before the trek. The trek leader may stop any participant from continuing if they believe it is unsafe. Their decision is final.

Insurance & liability

Trekking in the Himalaya carries inherent risks. We strongly recommend travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation. Northern Hill is not liable for loss, injury or delays caused by events outside our control.

Responsible trekking

Alcohol, smoking and littering are not permitted on trek. Please respect local customs, villages and sacred sites.
